Indian Institution of Production Engineers (IIPE)
The Indian Institution of Production Engineers (IIPE) is a national level association of Mechanical and Production Engineers involved in manufacturing and production activities. The objective of the society is to provide a forum for updating knowledge and forms a bridge between industry and the educational institution. The huge members' base of IIPE helps its student members to gather firsthand practical knowledge in the subject.
The chapter has a very good member strength of teaching faculty and students. The Tamil Nadu Chapter of IIPE is chaired by a senior professor of the department Prof. N. Venugopal and Prof. K. V. Krishna Sastry, Professor and Head of the Department is the Vice Chairman. IIPE publishes a monthly newsletter which is circulated to all its members. It also publishes the "Manufacturing Technology and Management Journal" on a quarterly basis.
IIPE recently organized a national seminar on "Recent Trends in Manufacturing Engineering" in association with the Institution of Engineers, and it received an overwhelming response. The IIPE Student Chapter of AVIT conducts regular technical lectures and seminars for the benefit of students and faculty members.
