Internal Complaints Committee

About ICC:

The government of India has enacted sexual harassment of women at workplace (Prevention, prohibition and redressal) act to provide a safe and secure environment to women at the workplace. As per this act all the organisations should have an Internal Complaints Committee by an order in writing for receiving complaints of sexual harassment. The Internal Complaints Committee of our institution has senior and well experienced faculty members from various disciplines. Any complaint received by the members will be immediately forwarded to the Presiding Officer, and this must be notified to other committee members at the earliest and a meeting should be called for discussing the matter. The Committee will discuss and decide to deal with the case or reject the complaint and recommend to the Institute about the action required to be taken in the matter. The Committee may call the person to appear as a witness if it is of the opinion that it shall be in the interest of justice. If the applicant is not willing to tell about themselves then the committee will ensure to maintain maximum secrecy about the person being harassed. After concluding its investigation, the Committee shall submit a detailed reasoned report to the Institute.
