Dr.L.Chitra, a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student has completed her Bachelor degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at National Engineering College, Kovilpatti followed by a Master's degree in Power Electronics and Drives at Raja College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai. She has completed her doctorate in the area of MEMS Sensor technology at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. She has a rich teaching experience of 22 years.
She has Coordinated various International Conferences, Faculty Development Programmes, Workshops and Guest Lectures inside and outside the college. She has also Coordinated awareness seminars and Competitions regarding the nuclear Energy sponsored by IGCAR, Bhavini and DAE in Pondicherry, Kancheepuram and Chennai. She is a Member of Professional bodies such as IEEE, ISTE and ISA. She has also delivered invited talks in various Engineering institutions. She is mentoring students in various product developments in the field of Automation and Renewable Energy sources and motivating them to participate more National and International Competitions. To mention few appreciations for mentoring like SAMADHAN,MHRD mega online challenge, Sahayak Hackathon by UPES, National Electric Bike Design Challenge 2023 , IIC National Innovation contest ,IETE,ISTE,Project Expos..etc .
Her Area of Specializations are Renewable Energy Sources, Drives and Control system ,
Robotics and Automation, MEMS Sensor Design. More than 25 papers published in International Conferences and
20 papers in Scopus International Journals and 4 papers in science indexed Journals.7 patents got granted and
4 published. She has received MNRE fund of Rs.1,50,000 for National Conference on Emerging Trends in New Renewable
Energy Sources and received a fund of Rs.50,000 from Unnat Bharat Abhiyan for DC Micro Grid based Solar PV generation
to supply power to street lamp and common utilities in Arunkundram village. She has received a fund of Rs. 13,22,520
for a project proposal titled “Preventive Women’s Safety App for location based alerting” which was approved under
the scheme of Science and Technology for women(DST).She has received a fund of Rs.3,00,000 for conducting Faculty Development
Programme on Digital Twin for Electric Vehicles from AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy. She has also got appreciation
from the university for the product development the Nursing Robot named V2Buddy in association with Ganesan Innovation and Incubation
Center for assisting Doctors and Nurses especially for corona isolation wards.
